The
Government of Kerala will soon introduce tourist visa-on-arrival
(VoA) at
Kozhikode, the third airport in the State to
offer the facility.
Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi
are among the nine where tourists from 43 destinations can get their visas
enabled with electronic travel authorisation. It is currently the only State to
have two international airports enabled under the scheme. Delhi,
Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore,
Hyderabad and Goa
are the other airports where the service is offered.
Kerala Tourism targets 30 lakh tourist arrivals by 2021 and
has been pitching the visa-on-arrival facility through promotional campaigns
worldwide. “Some of our key markets such as
Germany,
Australia,
Japan,
Russia, the
US
and the UAE are also on the list, which will be a great boost to tourism,” said
A. P. Anil Kumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala.
